Question help ... chrome switch covers on road king classic

Let me start out ... YES, I have the service manual :-)

I recently installed new chrome switch covers on the wife's sportster, and was really all I wanted (as to difficulty). Of course, now I want chrome switch covers on my 08 RKC, and I'm nervous about the cruise switches.

Advise please ....

thanks, riding long and safe!

They are easier than the other switches. Just warm them (soften them) in some hot water before you try pushing the caps onto the switches. You'll see what I mean when you look at the new ones. If you can handle the main switches, these are nuttin.

The cruise switches are the easy part. I just did mine last week. I wish I would have heard about the warm water trick.

I found that the only PITA part was getting that plate that holds the Cruise switches down has to be fully seated in all of the notches or it won't go together right!

Yes take your time, and I also wish I had heard of the warm water trick, it would have helped me out last year.

dont pry the switches off the cruise control or you will break the switch. (ask me how i know) use the tool that comes with the kit and apply slow even pressure and it will come off. make sure you notice what color wire is on top of the switch before you get it to far apart so it goes back together the right way and works. this is defined in the service manual. the rest is pretty simple.
