Default Bang for the buck engine mods

Thinking about my next upgrade.

I have the Stage two harley upgrade on my bike. Basically standard compression 103 kit with 255 cams and SE AC. I was told that I may want to upgrade to the high compression SE pistons and SE Heads with a cam for higher duration. Basically my bike pulls like a freight train ride now until I get to 110 mph and then it feels like a hit a wall. I was also told that I get these additional upgrades for about $2500 plus dyno tuning. What do you think? Right now my numbers are 105 tq and 90 hp.

Just off the top...
I never found a reason to go over 110...of course I'm old now. Might have when I was young and foolish...LOL
and find a different builder/tuner...
JMO...FWIW

Shouldn't you be getting closer to 100 hp? Maybe I'm wrong.

Man, if I wanted to go 110 mph, I'd get one of those crotchety rocket thangs. Just saying...

the stock harleys have plenty of power for their intended use. we all tend to want big numbers, only to find out that it can be built to the point that it's not nearly as pleasant to ride as it was before the last modification. you have almost 50% increase in power from stock. and power tends to corrupt. there will be a time when you get to a point to where you're satisfied. when i was younger i couldn't get enough power. as i got older, reality sorta kicked in, and i am happy. i now realize that i don't need the 124" dream hog. just something that hauls *** enough.

110mph is downright more than enough for a bagger with a big wind catcher...my ultra gets some serious front end wobble much over that speed.
Your brick wall is wind resistance... how deep are your pockets? Motor work gets $$ when searching for a magic #. YOu can do your heads, pistons and add a few ci's...so what you get another 10hp and some tq?? Will it make you go that much faster on the top end??

Not trying to go faster than 110 mph per se, but I want to get there a lot faster. I want the power when I need it. What difference in power will the SE heads and high compression pistons and cam get me? I take it thats lots of people aren't two friendly toward HD parts. The dealer told me that since my bike will be past the two year warranty I could make these upgrades and it will still fit under my extended warranty.

I just finished my bike's upgrade and i was trying how fast it is going. I stopped myself at 180 km/h (nearly 110 mph) and it feels like it can go more very easily. I didn't want to go on cause I was still in break-in period. High compression pistons and another cam (I installed Woods 408-44 cause it is a bolt-in cam) might help you a lot in my opinion. I didn't do anything to the heads.

decide what you want and go about it the most economical way; some head work, clean up the throttle body, two into one exhaust, etc.
