motel near Deals Gap needed
I'm going to Deals Gap area from NJ on Thursday next week and need a full service motel/hotel for Thurs night. I would like a place that would have a restaurant and BAR still open at 9PM when we get in. Seems like alot of the places are out in the middle of nowhere and we won't be able to get food or a cold one when we get there. Only staying one night and we are coming down 81 from the north. Thanks!

Fontana Village Resort. I talked to Tim Gamble (rooms director) last week and he is having special week-day rates. www.tim.gamble@fontanavillage.com (828)-498-2211

Obviously as you can tell lodging is very limited in deals gap. Last month I stayed for over a week in Marysville. A very nice 45 minute ride over to deals gap and the dragon and all other roads. Holiday Inn Suites 65 a night, very biker friendly. Probably 20-30 bikes per night. A few local bars within walking distance. This makes you more centrally located for the dragon, pigeon forge, gatlinburgh etc etc. HTH

I know you said you wanted a hotel but have you thought of any of these places:

http://www.ironhorsenc.com/

Not all have a bar but they do have cabins and are for the most part motorcycle specific.
edit: On closer inspection the Punkin Center Motorcycle Resort is the only one that says they have beer(no liquor). If my memory serves me right I think that area is a dry county. I'm sure someone here will know as it's been a long time since I have been down there.
