Some friends stayed there a couple of weeks ago. They said it was great. Several of their pics had touring bikes in the background, so we must be welcome.

 

I rode The Gap on 06/12/09. We stayed in Pigeon Forge. Lots of rooms in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Lots of entertainment and restaurants as well. There's nothing much in the immediate area of The Gap...

Cherokee and Maggie Valley are also good options...

 

There is a pretty nice Microtel in Robbinsville NC

 

Yea they are very biker friendly and they are right at the Dragon. they also have a Bar. I was staying at Kickstand at the time and they had the closest beer. I met Tim at the bar and he told me about the weekday specials. haven't stayed there yet but probley will in the future.

 

stayed at Fontana Village in the spring. Rooms were good,restaurant was excellent.And they have a bar & store where where you can buy beer or wine. Graham county is a dry county. Nothing for after hours but a great spot.

 

Best place to stay is Microtel Inn in Robbinsville, N.C. Very clean and only a few miles from the dragon tail and cherohala parkway. Bldr

I have spent the last week here in Maggie Valley. There is no one here. Motel lots are empty.
