I just had a dealer refuse to do warranty work and a National Safety recall saying they were too busy. I even bought the bike from them at list last year.

 

Yeah, you're probably right. The $3000+ I saved, plus the $50 vs $90 oil changes accompanied by the take-it-or-leave-it attitude of our local dealers, yeah, MUCH better I align myself with my local stealer! Been there, tried that. How about, it's better for the local dealers to treat you like the paying customer you are or could be? Novel idea that the dealer I DID get ours from understand. And their "local" people know it too.
Our local stealer;
Service? Crazy high prices for same thing as ALL Harley dealers offer.
Accessories? Uh, all dealers sell the same thing. Better, go Zanotti's!
Parts? Right, parts guy thinks Softail Deluxe is same as Road King (no joke!)
Advice? Best advice on the planet is right here at HD Forums!!!!!!!!

So, as with any business, local if they earn it. Ours didn't. Just because you're local, doesn't mean you're "entitled" to my business.

Other than that, you're spot on!! (rant aside, yes, I do get your point)
