I also wear a Hydration Bandana- protects the neck and cools the blood going to the Brain- http://imcoolnow.com/bandana-cooling.htm-

I use one from Eagle Creek. Soak it in cold water and you can ride in 100+ no problem.

been toying with the idea of the vest.. but 1)- I live on the east coast of VA and it's humid as well as hot not sure how effective it would be and 2)- I heard they are only good for 40-50 uses so a month and a half say July and August and it's trashed...Is this the real story on these?

I have this exact one
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d.html/r...02GTU5I&sr=8-1

I saw a motoboss one at cyclegear that looked the exact same with a different label as well. The HD one looks very similar as well but is 15 bucks more

I also see some posts they do not work in tropical weather - I can't comment there but I live in the desert (Vegas) and this thing works not just good, but great!!!

Yes 50 uses and it's done. I need to drive my car daily to work so you every day riders will cycle through your $30 faster. Keep in mind it will get your tshirt wet and the waistband of your Levis too

I have the HD one. Tried it the first time this past weekend. Worked very well. Temps here were around 102.

I have been in 100-150 (desert) degree temps and never even knew they had these. I was reading this wondering how everyone got cooled down from a "hydration" vest That is a camel back to me (a blatter full of water on your back) I might give this a try if I ever feel the need for it. Thanks for all the info.

I bought one from Amazon.com for 30 bucks. The only time I used it the humidity was high and 100 deg.Worked great for about 30 minutes then dried out.May do better with lower humidity.
