I have been mulling it over for a while on a HD service manual. I recently noticed that Haynes makes a service manual for HD's. The only reason I haven't pulled the trigger on the HD one is that it's $50. I know, I know....it's only $50 and it's well worth it. Anyways, the Haynes is only $24 at a local store. Does anyone have any insight why I should or shouldn't go towards the Haynes? All I am looking at doing is fluid changes and other small stuff. Although, one day I may look at adding some 16" chubbys.
Don"t even try to compare the 2. HD is far better being model/year rather than muli-models and year. I make nothing telling u to buy the HD but end up getting it down the road costing you 74.00..... 24 plus the 50, so save yourself 24 in the long run.
Harley wrote the book for the model you ride specifically. You tell me which one you want to go with when all of sudden the other guys might have missed a step.
This is a joke right? You spend 15-20 grand on a motorcycle and then worry about a $26 difference between the actual, factory Service Manual and a "Reader's Digest" version!
Not only would I recommend the HD manual but I would say you need to buy all available HD manuals for your bike. Service Manual, Parts Manual, and the Electrical Diagnostic Manual. Should run you about $150 for all 3 but you will have a complete reference library for your bike.
Pocket change compared to the the knowledge that can be gained.
