Rg owners for the record

1. 6'-4"
2. 36"
3. Stock; Cee Bailey 16" Euro; Klock Werks 8"
4. C&C Solo w/ backrest
5. No lowers
6. Detachable tourpak, use it in the solo and two-up configurations; usually ride without it.
7. Currently running the 8" KW. No buffeting, but as expected I get hit with a lot of "clean" air. The stock shield was intolerable due to buffeting above 50 mph. The Cee Bailey also produced fairly severe buffeting above 60-65 mph. I will be receiving an 18" Cee Bailey Euro next week, that I hope will be the right solution for long distance riding. I will probably stick with the KW for around town, but may try a 12" KW. Once I get things sorted out, I may be putting a Cee Bailey and a KW up for sale on the classifieds.

Looks like the entries have petered out... thank you to all who replied.
I have read this entire thread and still a bit concerned about the buffeting... hope to see all of this compiled into a spreadsheet or summary at some point as there are so many different options for windshield shapes and heights... now it seems that lowers can minimize buffeting?
I'm not a big fan of the full dress Electra Glide, but is there less buffeting with an EG? I'm wondering if the fairing on the EG the same as a SG or RG? Or something else?

I started a thread similar to this today for the shorter RG riders but no one has responded yet.
As for your question about buffeting with the batwing there is. I have vented lowers and fairing wings and I still get alot of buffeting. Buffeting has never really bothered me though unless it hits me straight in the glasses.

New 2010 Road Glide Custom.
Stock bike completely at this moment. Shield is really short.. just a few inches. Must be much shorter than shields on earlier years. I wear a full face helmet. 6'1" tall 34" inseam. Windless days, riding is windy but not unpleasant as long as my ear plugs are in well. On windy days, the buffeting can be unpleasant. I will have a Mustang solo with rider backrest here tomorrow. Backrest will improve posture significantly and probably raise my head a bit vs. riding without backrest.
From what I've read here, for someone about 6' tall it sounds like I should consider:
•CV +1.5"
•CV Sport 9"
•KW 8"
Does that sound about right?
