Well, my best bud is in critical care...After the Gettysburg rally a 2hr ride back home, he broke off to do a stop and then head back to my home to get a few things he left there. about an hour and a half later I hear sirruns.......When you call his cell phone and a Police Officer answers the phone you know we have a problem. A mile from my home he would have been running late to get to other appointments so I am sure he was pushing, well anyway as near as I can tell a pickup crossed his lane and he slapped the side of the vehicle w/ him being nearly upright broadside. When I got to the scene they had no idea who the biker was, since he put his wallet in his tour pack and the investigators were not there yet to assess the accident. He was already flown to the hospital. He is pretty well broken along w/ a hole in his head.
He is the one in my avatar in the back...Friends like him are once in a lifetime and priceless...I do not think he is going to make it. Wife; Children~2 girls; and a boy all under 15 years of age. This sucks....
Put a photo and just a couple of words on post #53.
First off thanks so much...the response to this is just so encouraging to me.
Thanks for the personal/private notes.
Update to let you know how the memorial fund is progressing.
I applied and received an EIN from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and opened up an account today at the Fulton Bank under the name of J. Robert Miller Memorial Fund.
I also bought and had setup the domain name BikerAlert.org and am in the process of having a website setup. The name BikerAlert.org reflect my desire that my friend's death can help make people aware of bikers and that bikers ride safely! I don't want his death to be in vain and by your responses neither do you. The details of this are being worked out but I hope to have a biker memorial section of the website so that those of you who have tasted the pain I am going through can memorialize your loved one as well.

In less than an hour from now I will be suited up and hopping on the bike to ride with him one last time, rain or shine (I hope it rains). I will be pallbearer...what else is there to say........Good bye my good friend and thank you all for getting me through this difficult time...if you have time and your passing through give me a note, I am sure I will be up for as many J. Robert Miller Memorial rides I can squeeze in. RIP
He is gone...I will post a little later...very sad
Thanks for the bumps, concerns, and prayers.
Thanks again for all of your support. I have emailed this site to some family members and friends, the response from family and friend is awesome, something we as riders can be very proud of.
It is uncertain about the Helmet if he was wearing, no report was made from the accident site as of yet. But I will let you know.
