Super Tune/VCI wont hook up 2 computer?
Well I had dealer install the Super Tuner at 500 miles when I did my pipe swap. I now have 1300 miles on bike (09 RG) and I really dont think they tuned it very well. They dyno'd it at 1000 miles but it feels sluggish. Its running 72 HP and 84TQ and just doesnt sound right at certain RPMs. I tried to hook up the VCI to the bike and the computer but I cant get it to link up???? I would like to see what kind of tune Im running. I bought the SEST software and installed it and bought the right cables from dealer. I hook everything up and turn ignition switch on but I get nothing? Anyone have any ideas, I am now thinking about taking it to a different tuner (Indy shop)and putting in the TTS or doing it myself. I have had nothing but problems with the dealer and have nothing but second thoughts about trading in my 05 RG. I have to get this bike running right to get rid of this major buyers remorse.. Oh well, its only money right
Here is what Im running.
SE AC
SEST
Thunderheader.
Any info or advice would be greatly appreciated.

You connected it to the plug on the left side, right? I asked because on my 05 RK the ECM plug was on the right side of the bike. When I got my '09 I just assumed it was on the right as well. Guess what, there's the same type of plug on right side but it's not the ECM. After getting pissed for an hour that my $400 SEST didn't work, I broke out the service manual and found out the ECM plug is on the left side.
And no the bike does not need to be running. Just turn on the igntion and the run switch to on.
Another thought came to mind, you require a driver for the operating system so that it can recognize the dongle. Make sure it got installed when you installed the SEST software.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!!! Found it. I was plugged into the wrong plug. Funny thing is I spent a half hour looking for the plug location in the service manual and couldnt find it. Now I just have to figure out how to run this program...Im used to the power commander and this is a bit different. Any tips? Thanks again rides99fatboy
