Angry cruise control gone bonkers

i was on a road trip 2 weeks ago and the cruise control started acting up, has anyone else run into this problem, here is what happens first its a 2008 road glide under warranty so its going to the dealer, 1st set the cruise control, light turned green and it held the set speed; 2nd you would try to set it the light would turn green but not hold set speed; 3rd you could set speed it would hold set speed then cancel it self but light would remain green; 4th with out setting the cruise control the light would turn from red to green but unit would not be engaged then; 5th the check engine light came on and the diagnostic code is P0577 which is cruise control input code number.

Cool

I have a 2009 Streetglide and had problems with my cruise. The first time it acted up was after setting speed it would all of a sudden disengage by itself. Unlike yours the light on mine would go to red. The second time it happened the cruise disengaged and the engine light came on. Took it to the dealer and he shot the codes and found lose battery terminals. Worked OK for a couple of days then happened again. Took it back again and they said it was a chip(?) in the system. Waited two weeks for a new chip. After install and the all clear by the wrench I took it out and it seemed to be working fine. Once I got out on the open road and up to highway speed it self disengaged again but no engine light this time. It seemed to hold on flat smooth roads but any wind buffeting or hills it would knock off. Took it back and they said my throttle sensor was bad. They changed that and it works fine now. I hope they can pinpoint yours easier than mine. Overall 3 trips to the dealer and a lot of waiting. Good Luck.

I had a problem but mine was a wet resume / set switch. The dealer couldn't find the problem but I did. Sealed the switch and no more problems.

Have them check your brake switch. That caused mine to do the same!!
