i think if it were the vrod platform, it would not start with fl, it would start with a 'v'..... i think phil hit it on the head, the x's are simply placeholders.
also, remember, that just because it is listed on the carb site, does not mean that they will even offer it at all. they list everything just to cover their bases. case in point, if you look at the 2008 list, they had a road king custom. anyone see any 2008 customs?

v rods suck. one started riding alongide me last year, and i was in sixth gear cruising at 70 mph, i thin i was doing like 2400 rpm. this guy comes up alongside me, and he had to be doing 4500 rpm's. we were both doing the same speed. if i wanted a high revving touring bike, they still make great bmw touring bikes that will absolutely suck the headlight out of a v-rod. unless they figure out how to build a v rod based engine with some real cc's rather than the sportster sized motor that they are now, and with some real bottom end torque, then they'll end up with a very heavy and slow touring v rod. we'll know soon though. the flhxxx would be from what i understand a hot rod version of the flhx, streetglide.

Good grief man, don't you think Harley would retune the motor for a touring bike? My guess is it would be bumped up to abot 1600cc with much more bottom end...wouldn't be hard to do.

Not trying to be an a$$, just providing info from real experience.
