MP3 Player solved!

MP3 Player solved!
I have an iPhone (doesn't work well with gloves on), I have an MP3 player with XM Radio that you can record with (has a damn cradle ya need to charge with)...Hell if I could make a decision on how to properly integrate them with the bike. I just couldn't make up my mind...
So..I go to BestBuy to look and see what kind of mounts they have (and I've seen the RAM, Riverclaw (I think it's called) and about every other internet searchable ones for bikes but I had issues with the cable, etc)...I'm ****.
So..I see THIS! Cheaper than the mounts ($29).
It is a Walkman MP3 Player about the size of a flash drive. I had this idea..problem solved cleanly I believe at least! I just velcroed it on the CD Door w/ no operational issue with the door.

I have just recently trialed an iphone, and I think it has loads of potential for bike use. For example, as an mp3 player, as a scrolling strip map, the compass (although not at all convinced about how well that would work) and to plot / record your route.
As you state, doesnt work with gloves on. Reason - the touch screen uses the moisture in your skin to function, so - try this.
Lick the glove finger or, as i have decided to do - cut a small piece of chamois leather and glue to finger of glove and lick that.
result - iphone works a treat

It's 2GB, the gal at BestBuy said it would hold 250 songs (which is more than I have).
** On the licking the gloves for the iPhone post, that works? I thought it was heat sensitive rather than moisture. I will have to try that. Although, I am pleased with this set up..nuttin on the handlebars, no wires flopping around. Took it for a ride today and worked out great!

I'm going to be heading from Omaha to Kansas City here in a week, avoiding the chaos in the family Durango as my wife drives it and my three children along with my mother-in-law.
I'm going to have to work on something to get music going for the trip. Whether it's just a set of earbuds wound through the helmet straps or something else...
I'm pretty sure the stock iPhone earbuds don't mix well with a half helmet. Am I right?
