Thanks guys, My understanding is I am paying for $18,500 worth of coverage if something happens, this number has nothing to do with what the "Blue Book" says a 03 Ultra is worth.
I will talk with my agent again to make sure we are both on the same page. I have kept receipts for everything I have spent (did the labor myself). I wanted to insure the bike for more but the whle "Custom Bike" thing came into play, and the coverage was much higher.
Hope its never an issue and I never need to file a claim.

GAbulldog,

I have Foremost insurance and have had one accident claim with them. They treated me very well. They did not challenge the dealer estimates and sent the checks directly to me.

Standard coverage included $3,500 in options. For the damaged optional non OEM equipment I supplied Foremost with pictures, current cost including S/H charges and vendor contact information. I had the first dealer list all of the damaged non OEM parts on his estimate.

The bike was damaged and partially repaired about 800 miles from my house. When I got home and cleaned the bike, I found additional damage. Foremost, asked me to take the bike to a local dealer for another estimate. Again I was cut another check without complaint for the full estimate.

Foremost even paid $150 in overnight shipping charges.

The only prorating done was on my personal protection equipment (helmet and rain suit). These were the only items Foremost wanted original receipts.

BTW, I have only been a Foremost customer for four months. They were able to beat State Farm’s price and include trip interruption coverage and towing.

you most likely would need, receipts, pictures, and documentation that the bike is actualy worth the claim submitted at time of loss
