if you stay in a lower gear too long at high rpm and it feels like you loose power is tha a rev limiter or possible damage of engine?
If you're in it hard, like full throttle all out and hit the rev limiter, you're going to think someone shut off your ignition ....... Oh, they did, that's what the rev limiter does, it just cuts out .......the rev limiter is there for that safety factor to keep your equipment in one piece, I just don't recommend banging it that hard every day ..........
the stock rev limit is 5500 rpm.i hit mine regularly until i installed a big bore 95,gear drive cams and a power commander, mine now cuts off at 6250,and i find it regularly too.
