Default Polo

Use the Polo DOT - love it! Had to go back to my old HJC for a day while wiring the ACC for com unit - WOW, was the HJC heavy & clunky by comparison!

I'm quite sure the quick disconnect on the novelties is all plastic. Their website shows a photo of another type of connector for the DOT version that looks like a miniature seatbelt latch. The DOT helmets looked much better than other brands but still had the mushroom look. The novelties have the same shell but a different lining that passed all the DOT tests except the penetration test. It came down to wearing the novelty for some protection or nothing at all. My wife's head is so small that she wouldn't wear anything else because of the size and weight.

I have had mine for two years, have four helmets but this is the only one I wear, I swear sometimes I reach up and touch it to make sure I did not forget to put it on.

Hey, I only got a 10% discount 3 years ago. It is still the most comfortable helmet I have ever worn. Hats off to ACC. It is a quality product for sure.

Latch is metal surrounded by plastic. Mine is a "novelty" style and the latch is metal. I don't think they would sell a helmet with a plastic latch. A friend of mine has the DOT version of my helmet and side by side you can hardly tell them apart.

I understand that

HD OF Louisville
1700 Arthur Street
Louisville, KY 40208
502-634-1340

is a dealer 9closest dealer to indianapolis...does anyone know if they have a large selection or seen them there? Sure would like to have a chance of looking at one closely before just ordering one. Are these smaller then the HD carbon fiber helmets?
