Cheap Slip On Choices...
When I bought mufflers for my sportster I founds tons of good reviews for V-Twin Mfg. slip ons. They were only $109 from ebay. I couldn't be happier and get comments all the time on how great the bike sounds.
I get a new Electraglide and start researching slip ons but there just dosn't seem to be a real low cost favorite. Is it because most guys that make that kind of investment in a bike don't look for bargains or is it because none of the cheaper mufflers are any good?
I've found a few that look promising but no reviews on any of them.
1. V-Twin Mfg. PART# 30-0597 32" Long. 3.5" Diameter includes removable baffles. - $219 shipped
2. V-Twin Mfg. PART# 30-0349 28" Long. 2.5" Diameter includes removable baffles. - $149 shipped
3. LaRosa PART# SLUE-01 Unknown Length and Diameter includes 1 3/8" baffle - $165 shipped
4. Cycle Shack PART# MHD-292SD 29" Long. 3.0" Diameter includes removable baffles. - $227 shipped
Does anyone have or heard any of these? So far the first one is my favorite but that's just because it looks like the same design as the ones I have on my sportster. Opinions?

You want cheap, here's cheap, Take a hole saw the same size as the inside diameter of the muffler. Put an extension on it (both are available from Lowes, etc.). Drill out the baffles and you have a better sounding, stock looking muffeler so you won't get hassled by the Leo's. Hope this helps.

I hear what your sayin, I kinda figured that sort of thinking is why I wasn't finding any info on the cheaper alternatives. My experience with the sportster though makes me want to investigate all the options.

Cycle Shack Slip Ons gets my vote.
I’ve had them on my last 3 bikes.

I loved the Cycle Shacks I had on my Sporty. As for my Street Glide, I went with a set of Wild Pigs. I too wanted something inexpensive until I could afford the whole stage 1 setup.
I found a set of used Wild Pigs for less than $100 - I couldn't be more happy with the sound, performance and quality of craftmanship. I may just keep these pipes long term...
