Car GPS on Bike ?
How many are using a car GPS on their bike ? What are the issues if any? Can you hardwire it or do you have to use the cig plug? My good riding Bud wants to use his Garmin Nuvi on his bike. Does the FM Transmitter work well for listening to music or not. His bike is a 96 UC.
Thanks for any advice

I use a Garmin C330 Street pilot. Back and forth between the car/truck and bike. Have used it for three summers now on week long trips. Works fine. Can't charge off of the cig lighter as the mount I use doesn't accept the cig light plug/charger than came with the GPS so I charge it each night in the hotel room. Fairly well protected tucked into the fairing just below the base of the windshield, but if it really rains I will just remove it and ride without it.

I use a Nuvi 7 series. I used it on the fatboy I had, and now on my 04 Ultra.
I have ridden in the rain numerous times in two years, and so far, so good.
I do not use the FM modulator. I have a cord that I plug into the AUX
port of the bike audio.
There is nothing mechanical in the GPS so vibes don't affect it, except the screen
is hard to see at idle (it does shake a bit). Prices are allot lower, so if you don't need
the top of the line GPS.....save some money. There is allot of crap on mine GPS I'll never use (money convertor, language translator, books on audio....plus other crap).
