Default Garmin

I use the Garmin 750 with Ram Mount. I bought a USB hardwire kit listed in this thread above. Works great. I like that you can create routes on the HD Trip Planner then upload them to the 750.

I carry a zip lock if it looks like rain, but if it's going to be raining hard I'd remove it.

Default me too...

+1 here. The only difference is I have a Sony GPS with a very large screen. I have an U/C and I mount it to the tach face and plug her into the cig. outlet. Only problem I've encountered is getting that dang mound off the tach when I'm not using it. Man, talk about sticky!

RAM makes some really nice bar mounts for most GPS units

Be careful using those suction cup mounts, especially the ones made by Garmin. They melt fairly easily and once compromised, do not hold worth a damn ever again. After replacing it in my SUV at least once a year, I finally switched to hard mounting it with a RAM handlebar mount around the center "emergency brake" lever in my SUV.

I use a Garmin Nuvi 500. It is waterproof and comes
with Street maps & Topo Maps of the whole U.S.A.
Plenty of guys use them SNOWMOBILING too so you
know the are waterproof and SHOCK proof too.

I have used the Nuvi 200 on my bike since January. No problems. If it looks like rain, I place the unit in my tour pak. It works fine. If you use the the ball/handlebar mount (which is offered on EBAY), you will need the 17mm model.

I have a Garman, Road-mate I think is the model. About $100, works great, just use the cig lighter for power.
Bought the mount for about $12 New on ebay.

I took my Garmin Nuvi 255 and put the suction cup on the fuel tank filler door for a mounting spot, ran the cord to the cig lighter, works just fine. Only use it on longer trips into unfamiliar roads. Easy to remove whole unit when you get to your hotel for the night too.

Check out the Nuvi 500/550. They are "motorcycle friendly" per the garmin website. Waterproof and rugged. $300 retail for the unit. They offer a mount with cable ready to wire in for $50.

I use a Garmin Nuvi 200 w. no issues.

i ridden 3 days straight in the rain, I covered it with zip lok bag and a rubber band.

I bought a ram mount water proof case, but it was clunky looking so I just use the baggie.

I use the Garmin mobile X in my pocket pc, I attach it to the windshield bag on my Road King with one of those Ipod touch arm band deals, they are made of neopreen with a clear window in the front so water proof, and I plug it into the cig lighter adapter that I have hidden uner the front lip of the seat, works great for me, but I do turn the phone part off so I don't loose where I am when a call comes in.
