I stared at my '09 Ultra today, and I wonder if it's worth the hassle to internally wire bars? You've got about 5" in the open before it hides in the faring. I'd understand better if it was a really exposed machine.
On a Batwing I wonder that too. I had a RK and it made a big difference, along with braided cables. I have had a Batwing for a year and think I will eventually install new bars for comfort and will have to make that choice.
Seems really pointless to me, like putting on new wheels that you can't even see. The one nice thing I enjoy about riding my Ultra is that it's more about function than form, so I spend more time riding and less time modding (not that there's anything wrong with that).

Waddya think?
On a RK with apes I say yes, it gives it a much cleaner look...On an Ultra, I wouldn't worry about it.
Older dressers have air-assisted front forks and use the handlebars as an air reservoir, so going to internal wiring would mess that up. Do current models have a different suspension system?
............. Why add chrome or a painted inner fairing?? ....................
The "Painted Inner Fairing" is a huge difference, that you look at the entire time you are on your bike. It's the 3rd biggest thing on your bike, after the wheels and the front of the fairing.
I do think a "Chrome Inner Fairing" that you speak of, is a tad much though. LOL
