Go for it!
As per Johnny Vaughn @ HD Parts, and Robert @ Wild 1, I'd need to get +4 Clutch & Brake cables for install of WO 575 on an '09 Ultra.

Hmmmmmm

I switched out the handlebars on my 09 Ultra to the Khromewerks sweepers. The bars cost about $70 through Zanotti Motors. Longer clutch cable was about $35. I ran the wires inside the bars and it looks much cleaner. I did the same thing to my 05 Road King, but I used Wild 1's 518 bars on that one.

I really liked the Wild 1's on the Road King, but for the Ultra, I felt the thicker bars overpowered the look of the fairing a bit, so I opted for the Khromewerks, which have the stock 1" thickness.

With the Khromewerks on an 09 Ultra, you need the longer clutch cable, but the brake line is plenty long enough. Also, if you're going to run the wires inside the bars, I'd also suggest the replacement TBW the HD offers without the green clip in the center of the harness. It's a lot easier to get the wires inside the bars without the extra bullk of that clip.

Lastly, don't pay someone to do a handlebar swap for you. If you can read directions and operate a few basic hand tools, you can swap bars and do the wires.

you could "get by" by re routing the clutch and bending the brake line, not my way of doing things but to each his own I suppose

FYI: My dealer charged me 8 hours labor to install internal wired handlebars.
Don't start, I know I got screwed.

Can you list out all the parts you used to do this? Part numbers? I'm thinking of doing the Khromewerks Sweepers + 2. Will order whatever parts I can order from Zanotti's, have used them lots of times. PM me or email at ertsult at gmail dot com.

thanks!

I think internal wiring looks better. I went with Klock Werks back bars. I had it done over winter. They wanted 3 or 4 more hours to run the internal wiring. Once they got things going they did not charge me the extra hours since the bars were set up nicely for the wiring. I know a lot of people are not a fan of KW. but I love the bars. The wrist position makes a big difference.

I replaced the clutch and brake cables when I had the 575's installed with internal wiring (8 hrs labor, also). The Wild 1 bars look sharp IMO. I do like the wrist position on the stock bars better; but needed the extra pullback of the Chubby's. Steve's photos of the before and after are probably the best I've seen for showing how the swap out looks on the bike.
