Default Premium Tour-pak hinges

Just bought a new tour-pak. Got the new hinges at the same time. They are a bit of a pain to install. You have to drill out all the rivets on the stock hinges. Made me nervous to be drilling and grinding on a brand new tour-pak. Here are the results.

Hinges: Part # 79211-08 $40 at Chicago HD : http://chicagoharley.com/shop/advanc...1-08&x=21&y=16

Did the parts box show a pn# of -08 or -08A?

Steve, although the TP is new and pre-'06 style, is it plastic or fiberglass?

The -08A part number works for all TP's from '88 up, even chopped and fiberglass, as revealed in another recent thread here. Here's the link. I may spring for these even though I rarely use the TP.

Looks great! I think I'd be too nervous to do it myself.

Did you use a center punch in each of the rivets before you drilled em out?

They are a little bit of a pain to install (I could have used another set of hands) but the results are worth it!

You don't need to center punch them. I did find that grinding the rivets with a Dremel worked better than a drill on the hard to reach rivets under the lid seal.
