Default Trim around my wheels

I've noticed recently that the aluminum (I think its aluminum) trim around my stock Road King wheels are really stained with, what I believe are water spots. I've tried getting them clean with Mother's Chrome Polish with no success. Has anyone else fallen victim to this and, if so, is there a cure?

the aluminum(thats what it is) does spot with water & cleaners...mothers doesnt work as well as NeverDull or Xtreme...both are cleaner impregnated pads and you rub em til they turn black and then rub it all to a polish with a clean towel or microfiber...and dont use aluminum wheel spray on/rinse off cleaners, they make it worse

I have had success with "Simi-Chrome" metal polish. It take some time and labor but, it does bring back the luster if the tarnish hasn't gone too far. There is probably other products that will work too.

Funny post, I had the same problem with my work bike and could not find a cure for the stains either, my partner led me in the right direction. Go to home depot and purchase some oooo (4 ot) steel wool (I dont know if I spelled it right but Im sure you get the point. Use that to rub on the wax (mothers polish is what he used) his lip looks like chrome and that is no joke. It takes a while to get the shine but once its done its easier to keep up with and clean. Good luck man

Used the wife's kitchen sink pad scouring pad, works great. She does wonder how the pad gets beat up so quick?
