Hey DailyRider,

If you get down to Barber's Motorsports Park, come on over to Tupelo, MS and I'll give you the Elvis tour.

Smokey Mountain park is a beautiful ride, you could run up thru Charlottesville and catch the Blue Ridge south as far as time allows if you make it all the way to Smokey Mtn Park it is very nice.

Wow, lots of destinations provided. Here I was thinking young guys pick a destination and go, whereas older folks just pick a direction.

Ya can' go wrong with ANYTHING in PA that's west of Harrisburg & Rt 15, and north of Interstate 80. Great country. Great riding. I live in N Central PA & never get tired of N Central & N Western PA.

First, you head south towards the Bristol Motor Speedway and get ya some BBQ at Ridgewood BBQ. (http://www.roadfood.com/Reviews/Overview.aspx?RefID=446)

Then, head back inta Virginia heading north on 421, take a right on 91, then a left on 58 and get ready to rumble!!! Highway 58, aka Jeb Stewart highway, is one of the best kept secrets in Virginia. Consider the Dragon but stretched a bit. Screaming thought this empty stretch of road at what ever speed your comfortable with (I liked 50+) your dipping her left with time to come out of that corner and dip her right with a few short straight a-ways that are nice for 80+ runs.

You'll come to a T intersection in Volney. Hang a right (still on 58) and travel a few miles until you see the signs for Hwy 16 to split from 58. Swing a left into the vintage 1940's gas station / antique shop. Great place to relax and find yourself back in time.

Fire her up and keep heading east on 58 through Independence Virginia until you find yourself in Galax, home of the Galaxians (go to the highschool and get a photo).

Drop south on 89 and, just out of town, hang a left onto 97 (Piper Gap Rd). Follow this until it becomes 620, Old Piper Gap Road. Follow 620 until it branches into 1624. Stay on 1624 until it intersects with 89 (yup, that 89) and you will find yourself in Mt Airy, North Carolina. AKA, Opey land. Enjoy down town, Floyd's barber shop, City Hall, and all the good food you can find.

Well, I got you there. You can get your own-self home.

Enjoy the ride, the BBQ, and the sites. I did. And now, it's time for some...
