Default Rattle in fuel door button.

I installed the harley fuel door push button and it RATTLES like there is no tomorrow. I made sure everything is tight it seems to be the actual internal mechanism in the push button thats rattling. Has anyone encountered this and what did you do?

Just put your original lock back in, only install it backwards (with the lock tang facing you instead of away from you). It looks locked to the naked eye, but the door just lifts up. You won't need a key at the gas station anymore.

I installed an HD push button on my RG just last week.
The new spring plate looked like it would not work "no way".
So I installed the original stock spring plate......rattle, rattle, rattle.
I in put the spring plate that came with the kit. First time closing the
fuel door was tough, I thought if I had to push any harder, I was going to break something.
It works perfect.
I never understood the stock HD fuel door lock, as anybody's HD key would open it.

...or in my case, the key I left back at the house. Fortunately I had enough gas to make it the rest of the way home. That's when I made sure I'd never again need a key to fill the gas tank.

I installed one of those dudes on a 97 Ultra that I had. For some reason, it got all screwd up inside and finally one day it would NOT open! I had to break into it, costing me a NEW fuel door! ----- YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!
