Default TBW...Get the feeling?

I recently purchased an 09 EG Classic. It has the Throttle By Wire (no cables). This throttle has a very different feeling compared to my old 06 with cables. Seems very sensitive and at times at full operating temperature it takes more throttle to pull away from a stop light, almost like being in 2nd gear. Looking to know what others think about this new feature?

Have no issues with it. Been cables all my life and this TBW is a great feature to me.

Yeah I have had that same feeling a few times. Also it is not near as "responcive" as the normal cables. Like when you are really getting on it to shift it seems like the rpms dont drop at all in fact they go up. I have just gotten used to clutching a bit later. I have an '09 RG.

Just as I thought, I'm not imagining it. And as the MoCo would put it, "It's normal." Thanks for the feedback everyone.

My throttle response is as good or better than any cable throttled bike I have ever owned. I read on here that some say it has a delayed reaction and others says it is too sensitive and minor bumps in the road cause enough movement in their hands to rev the motor.

I have a couple hundred thousand miles on cable bikes, but only one prior bike being a harley (2004 heritage). I have ridden this one 16,000 miles and so far so good. No issues at all for me.

I'm not a "performance rider" by any means so the effect is so minimal that I haven't taken much notice of it at all. I suppose it's slightly different than my '05 was, but I just cruise so of no consequence here.

If you use TTS mastertune software you can actually adjust throttle response. Plus alot of other cool stuff.

As far as more throttle needed to pull away from a stop I had the same problem. At least on my bike it was the syn oil Harley puts in the primary. Switched back to dino oil and the clutch feels alot better. No more slipping...

Mine seems more quick to respond than cables.
So I guess it's all subjective.
