Love the 4.5" twin slash monster ovals from V&H's, these are awesome pipes and the quality is 2nd to none.

Anyone tried the American Custom rebuild's?
New advertiser on here.
I'm wondering about sound and also performance characteristics.

My good friend really likes his V&H Monster Ovals on his 09 Classic.

Joshman,
By the time you finish reading all of these posts you'll be just as confused, if not more than you are now.
Number one, your running true duals, which increases performance, but also the volume of sound on the pipes your running; if you want to keep the duals, call Jamie at Fuelmoto and talk with him about a set of Jackpots; if you go back to stock headers, you could go with the Vance & Hines Monster Ovals; either way talk with Jamie, he sells several brands.
I'm going to throw in my 2 cents as far as the old Scream'n Eagle pipes / Supertrapp SE's, " They sound like a set of jack hammers going down the road ", which are annoying as hell.

Jackpots -- 'nuff said, end of story. Call Jamie at FuelMoto; order the Dyno Tuned Jackpots; install; enjoy the sound every time you ride. It's that simple. I wasted I don't know how much time trying to decide which slip-ons to replace the stock 4" mufflers on my '09 Ultra. Finally ordered the Jackpots and couldn't be happier. They look good, sound good, and didn't break the bank--plus, FuelMoto's customer service can't be beat!

Got 'em on my bike and love the sound and performance. Louder than stock, not too loud, and a nice deep rumble.

I'm 98% happy with my Jackpots - and honestly I'm not sure if my requirements make it possible to be 100% happy!

Can I hear my radio under all conditions? - YES
Do I think they will ever be an issue with a LEO if riding 'respectfully' - NO
Were they engineered by a reputable vendor who knows their 'chit'? - YES
Do they show their personality when the right hand is twisted? - YES
Do my riding buddies refuse to ride behind me? - NO

The 2% I'm not certain about is if they are actually loud enough at highway speeds for cagers to hear me when I hit it as a warning in all situations.

It's a bit of give and take but the plus side outweighs the minus for me - and I'm glad I went with thew Jackpots.

Hope that helps!

FLS2FLH, thanks for posting. You answered my questions before I could ask. Will order the Jackpots.
