I hadn't rode one and With the fixed fairing it is like having power steering after the batwing for so many years. the 09 was smooth as silk.Looking forward to see the new tourglide.
Now that you understand the "ultimate truth" you can never look back. Open the checkbook and say ahhhhhhhhhhhh-right, what's it gonna take to ge this bike prepped and out the door for me today!
I always thought the Road Glide was an oddity. Had a real funky fairing and all.
Then I rented one when I was in Las Vegas for a week. Have a whole new appreciation for it, especially at high speed on the highways. That bike is a true cruising machine.
I just rented a Road Glide in Vegas a couple of months ago. I thought it would handle much better than my RK with all the reviews, but didn't really see any difference at all.
I have ridden several different models (Street Glide, RK, Ultra) and I just like the Road Glide the best. Ridden in all types of weather and hands down the RG is for me. Hate to see what they are going to do to the model for the 2010 editions. Have heard so many damn rumors.......... So just break out the wallet and enjoy the ride.
Bad idea. I tried one just to "confirm" that my Dyna was still the best for me after having ridden Softail, Road King, and Electra Glide rentals. After riding the Road Glide demo I had one within a month. I couldn't get it out of my mine. I feel guilty for not missing my Dyna; but I don't.
When I bought my '08 Ultra, my real pick was the RoadGlide. I had them price the RG with all the stuff the Ultra had on in, and it was just too much more money. My wife (the real buyer of the Ultra) wanted the big back seat, backrest, tour pack, etc..... sooooo we ended up with the Ultra. I like the Ultra, but that RG is awesome. Like OG1 said, if someone talks bad about the RG's, they just have never ridden one.
Brother in my group swears by his glide. We're a batwing group with but one glide. But, if MoCo decides to have a tour glide with all the bells and whistles, including the tour pak... there may be two in our group. Now, for a SETG, that's the bloody ticket!!!
