Lightbulb EITMS Not working

When I twist my throttle forward my cruise control light flashes amber. From what I have read here is that means that EITMS is not configured. Can I as a user turn this feature on and off? If so can someone please provide me with the instructions on how to do this. Thank you in advance.

Edit: Forgot to say that I have an 09 RG

Turn on the ignition but don't start the bike and turn on the run switch. Make sure the cruise switch is toggled on. Roll the throttle all the way forward until it stops and hold it there for 5 secs or so. The cruise light will either turn red or green. Red and it's off green and it's engaged. Do it until you get a green light. When I first did it I wasn't rolling off the throttle far enough. It's kind of weird coming from a regular cable throttle.

the above also works when the bike is started and the cruise switch does not have to be on.

Thank you everyone. I'm pretty sure the bike has to be off though. When its on I just cat a flashing amber cruise light.

you sure it's not a flashing abs light you're seeing? i have set my eitms with the bike running and it makes no mention of the bike having to be off in the manual.

I'm positive it is the cruise light. I don't have abs. I'll check when I get home. I'm at work right now. I will post up after I've tried it.

just had a look at the manual again and it does say not to start the bike, though i know you can set the eitms with the bike running. it also does not mention a flashing amber light? only green for on and red for off.... anyway you should have enuf info to get it figured out lol....
