I guess living out in the sticks has it's benefits, not much stop and go traffic.I've still got between 110-112 thousandths on the original pads on my 08 EGC-17,400 mi.90% of my riding on the highway 1 up. Traded in an 07 RKC with 21,000mi,still had the original pads.I'm a little disheartend to hear the Lyndall pads squeal. Was planning on going with those when I replace tires here in a few thousand miles.
I have 16,000 mi. on my original HD pads. Looks like they still have a ways to go. But that's mostly 1 up and back road cruisin'. I hate car traffic. Now if I could just get more than 8,000 miles out of my rear tire....
EBC Kevlars work for me. No noise like OEM pads and easy on polished rotors....19 bucks a pair from Jireh Cycles.
I used these on my old Evo and both front and rear pads had over 100k on them before I traded the bike in, with much more pad surface remaining. Thinking I would do as well with pads for the '07 I purchased some, but they didn't last any longer than the stock ones. For one thing the newer pads are much thinner when new, but even then I should've gotten 50k out of them if the material was the same. The upside is that they were inexpensive, <$20 IIRC. I've been thinking about Lindalls next time just to try them out, but I could buy several sets of EBC for one pair of Lindalls, so I may back out of that idea and just go with EBC Kevlar again.
I just put lyndels on my 08 roadking ( 28500mi) they seem to brake good but when I apply the brakes i get a buzzing noise. must be the holes in the rotors that cause the noise, didn't have that noise with stock h-d pads. anyone else notice the buzzing?
I just picked up a set of Lyndalls based on the recommendation of the local parts shop. They said that they all run them, and some of them have 16k miles on them - and still running.
I have 10k on my HD stock pads, and they're ready to be replaced.
holey smokes....10k and needing replaced. I got 28+K on stock pads and I pretty much ride like I stole it every day! but then again I go through a lot of boots. not!
