Looks really good. Are those three bolt heads or fasteners I see on the outside front of the fairing? What for? Does it mount to the detachable windshield brackets?

Memphis Shades has an awfull website that does not explain the product at all. Not sure where you got good product info on this thing. It "appears to say" that the the entire batwing is made out of lucite but I don't know.

All,
Thanks for the replies - appreciated.

To answer the questions posted over the past day or so;
  1. The ride is much quieter that when I had my SE black windshield on. I also think it will keep my hands warmer in the winter as I feel no wind now.
  2. I,m not sure about gas milage (don't really care) but its more streamlined than the OE screen which is as aerodynamic as a house brick.
  3. I am 5' 7" tall and wear a half helmet. The 5" screen I had on it was too low so i have ordered a 7" screen to see how that works. I,m waiting to see if the hole centres for the screen are the same as a HD one as I could then buy a flip-up screen (better).
  4. You cannot adjust it (like the softail one) but it works fine.
  5. It s is made of Lucite. The material is like black polycarb stuff and the finish is amazing. I have a vivid black RK and it matches great without any paint needed. The inside of it is the same quality / finish as the outside (no moulding marks etc) . It took about 30 minutes toi fit all in.
  6. It mounts to the original screen bolts but you do get new washers to fit which seem better. It also has a "lock" over the top washers to help keep it on (instead of those springs the OE screen uses).
  7. I have the wind deflectors as well (thats what the 3 holes are for on each side) but I wont fit them until winter as it looks better without them.
I hope this helps, but keep asking and i'll keep answering as best I can.

Rowle.

Rowle since the windshield is mounted with the 3 hole system like the street glide and electra has anyone tried or knows if any of the re curve windshield like fastaire etc. will work on this?

Rowle, can you share is the wind off the face and you can hear yourself think and enjoy everything around you? Thanks for sharing your experience on your purchase.

I've had 5 different manufactured windshields on my bike and I'm hoping this will be the last one.

If you are interested in something mid-priced between the MS and others might I suggest www.woodysfairings.com (disclaimer-it's my company so I'm not completely unbiased ) The MS fairings will take paint nicely from what I've heard. Paint (and painters) have come a long way since the peeling paint off of yellowish ABS car bumper covers. With the right paint and surface prep, adhesion promoters, etc. I wouldn't be afraid of getting a plastic fairing for paint reasons.
