Two Roadglide questions, please.
Having bought a new RG, I have two questions to pose to other RG owners/riders. I have done a search on the forum and I don't believe these questions have been addressed before. Correct me if I am wrong.
1. Are the crashbars adequate for protecting the fairing if the bike is tipped over or dumped at a slow speed? If not, what can be done to "extend" the c-bar a couple of inches wider for it's protection?
2. Are the fairing access covers lockable through aftermarket locks if they are available? (I do have some ideas on this if not.) I seem to recall the Vetter fairings had a lockable side cover.
Thanks for your ideas and comments.

The crashbars are plenty, I dropped mine right after I got it and you really have to look to see the scratch on the crashbar..didn't hit the fairing at all...you may want to invest in rear saddlebag guards though, when i cropped mine I got some light scratches along the bottom of the bag a small nick on the lip of the lid.

Crash bar good to protect fairing for "tip over."
Like previously mentioned, would also consider bag bars/gurards as well.
Here is link for locking compartments.

good informaton. i dropped my streetglide a week after i got it. although it was at walking speed out in my front yard. sure felt like a dummy. it didn't harm anything, and that's when i discovered that you really don't want to use the front brake when the front wheel is turned to one side sharply. they're sure easy to get off balance till you get it all rolling at a speed faster than walking. for me that's been the experience anyway.
