Default 40,000 mile service at Harley

I was checking out the festivities at the Las vegas and Henderson dealers today. I am nearing 40,000 miles on my '06 Road Glide. At Las Vegas was told that the 40,000 is about $850. At Henderson was told it is the same as a 10,000 service which is $571. Is LV already adding in the things they know I will need or jacking up the price? Or is Hendo leaving out some important work and will be shocked at the end price?

Who ever does your normal service.....go to them.
If you are within a thousand or so miles, round it up.....and
have your dealer/Indy do it. I think service miles are for the most part,
made to come too soon....since people put them off.
Don't worry about most stuff....get the service done when you get back.

I had my dearleship provide me with a checklist of everything they do for each check as the price varies. That way you can quantify their work. I do mined anyway after looking at it since I doubt a tech does everything on the list ( ie. critical fasterners.

Just had the 10 K done on mine $160 with me supplying the fluids. 800 would have me runnin for an INDY. They tech initialed that he adjusted the fuel enrichener so I dont bad for not doing my own wrenching.I didn't think that was too bad for a checkup/oil change and cleanup.

No experience to your post, just a Son of the Republic of Texas living in Las Vegas wanting to say "Howdy.".

To answer TNB's question. There are three dealerships in Las Vegas, all currently owned by the same owner who also owns Zion Harley-Davidson in Utah.

Sounds like the cheaper prices are leaving out the front fork service. It's pretty labor intensive.
