lynchburg is a fantastic destination no matter which direction you are coming from. The back roads are fantastic. I get up there at least once a year. The next time you go, ask the cashier at the General store if she can get you a reservation at Miss Bobo's restaurant.

Lynchburg https://www.hdforums.com/forum/attac...1&d=1246756834https://www.hdforums.com/forum/attac...1&d=1246757386 They can not sell whiskey there , but they can sell pictures there that happen to be stuck on a bottle of Jack.

I'm sure it was a cool tour.
I've never cared for their charcoal tasing whiskey though...
More of a crown guy.

I was there in 2007. They recently had received permission from Moore County to sell 1 bottle of a special reserve 30 years old, per adult who took the tour. Of course I didn't know that and took the tour on a Sunday. I guess I'll just have to go back (what a hardship). BTW Moore County is not bone dry. You can purchase JD outside the county, bring it back and consume it.

I bought a bottle the last time I was there. It's some sort of specially packaged stuff that is bottled in a "comemortive" bottle or something. It was overpriced and it drinks just like the Jack at the ABC store. Good stuff though.

Isn't it a law that it is illegal to purchase or consume Jack Daniels in Lnychburg?
It was a dry county when I took the tour. I'm not sure if it still is but that is pretty ironic if you ask me.

Yes it is still a dry county.
2 weeks ago they had their annual Lynchburg bike rally, they had a good turnout.
Although i live rather close by-90 miles-I have never taken the tour. Guess because I am a none drinker.
If you are coming from the south, Dalton, Calhoun etc. You can take all back roads. Go over Lookout mountain then over sand mountain and then you can either take sky line mountain by Scottsboro or go through Stevenson and take hwy 117
Both are great rides. If you decide to take hwy 117 be prepared for a lot of hilly and curvy roads. I do mean twisty road. I really enjoy this route but my floorboards don't seem to care for it.
Don't forget Judy's leather in the square, very good quality with good prices

Sounds like a sweet road trip. Need pics though. Wonder if they sell the oak barrels at the plant? That would be a sight to see on the back of a bagger...

They don't sell 'em at the Distillery, but they do sell the barrels at the hardware store in the town square.
