Default Windshield cleaning tip

Purchased my eyeglasses a number of years ago from Walmart. When you get your glasses, they give you a small bottle of cleaner that they say they will refill for free, for ever. This stuff is great for cleaning the windshield. takes the bugs off and, assuming your shield is not all scratched u, makes it crystal clear. The cleaner is made for plastic lenses and is a nifty fit for windshields

Try Hydrogen peroxide mixed 50 /50 with water, bugs literally melt off and it won't hurt paint of windshield. It's amazing!

Ride well,

Jim

Do NOT use Windex or anything with amonia in it. It will cause the windshield to permanently fog.

Plain water and a microfiber cloth. Dry with a microfiber cloth! 22,000 miles of bug guts and not a scratch.

I agree... a I keep bucket of water in my garage and 2 microfiber cloths. I dip one, soak the windshield, dry with the other.

Default pledge

I use pledge on my windshield and it seems to leave a protective coating and it makes cleaning the bugs off with the pledge pretty easy.

Although it seems a little scarey to put anything other than a mild detergent and water on the windshield; has anyone ever tryed Rain-X on the shield? I was thinking it might help disperse water when riding in the rain.

+1 for Pledge. It works well on the painted surfaces as well.

Don't know whats in it, but RainX added blotches to my windshield. Stay away.
Personally I've tried most of the advice on this forum and the wet cloth works the best. IF you want quick results, use a detailing wax on each bug.
