Default Might as well slit the wrists, we got passed by a 10 speed today!

Ok, so I have a pal who just got a new V-Rod and he's just learning to ride. Out near Vegas is this scenic loop in Red Rock Canyon. It's a very beautiful scenic ride but it's also a great place to learn at a reasonable speed how to take some turns and it's only one way traffic.

So...we're out there and my buddy's confidence level is really low at the moment so we're going pretty slow....I see a 10 speed coming and I'm secretly praying, "Oh Lord, please don't let this 10 speed pass me on my Harley...Please Lord..."

Here he comes, with his little blue matching bike suit peddling top speed! "I said PLEASE Lord!" VROOOOOM! Blows by us like we're standing still! I tried to scare him with my true duals rinehart exhaust by goosing it a bit as he came along side of me but I couldn't foil Mr. Iron man in training though..he just kept on peddling by.

Fortunately, we did catch him and pass him on the hill but I tell ya, something was very wrong with that situation! haha I am looking forward to when my buddy gets his bike legs that's for sure!

Just thought it was funny and would share...

Reminds me of years ago when I used to ride road bikes. We were riding in the mountians of New Mexico and doing about 40mph in a chain of about 6 bikes. A car passed us only going a few mph faster than us so I decided to try to go after him. Shifted to top gear I managed to get up to 58mph and passed the car easily. The lady in the car looked over at me in disbelief. I could see it in her eyes "how can a bike go this fast??" I hung with her for a few seconds and then she hit the gas gas took off. A mile or so down the road we found her pulled over buy a cop. I WIN!!.

Last year on the Blue Ridge Trail the wife and I were going down a long grade at about 45 mph and 2 guys on bikes passed us up, the limit is 45 on the trail, down at the bottom was a cop running radar and had the 2 off on the side giving them a serious azz chewing.
