I really would like some input on wo 508's vs wo 518's.


I'm pretty sure the bars I want are either of those 2. I like the low slung back look of both bars, but do NOT want to have to reach down and forward while riding. I am 5'10" and am on a 2014 RK. I have the Danny Gray butt crack seat on my RK which puts me down and back about 2-3"ins. The heritage style bars on my RK were okay with the stock seat, but now no matter how I rotate them, I have to reach forward to grab them. I am thinking I will need the 508's based on this. I don't think the grip angle will bother me, but would like feed back from those that are riding low and back. With my height, as well as the seat I am running, would guys recommend the 508's or the 518's? Wild 1 still thinks I should get the 518's but looking at how far back they go vs the speedo on the tank, I feel I may still be reaching, and even if it's just a tad, I don't want to buy bars I'll be unhappy with. Feedback greatly appreciated!

Can those with wo 508's and those with wo 518's post a similar pic to the one I posted of your bike with those specific bars? I would like to see where the grip sits in comparison to the tank. I know everyone will have different seats, so opinions will most likely differ. I just want to see which bars sit where in relation to the bike. Thanks in advance!

 

I have the 518;s on my '10 RK. I'm 6'1" and find them to be just right. I would suggest 508's for you, and if I had it to do over again, I would have ordered 508's. I use a rider backrest, and I really like my hands low. The 508's will bring your hands in from the breeze and should be just what you're looking for.

Thanks Ed, appreciate the feedback. That's what I needed to hear. If you would do 508's at 6'1" I definitely will be getting the 508's.

 

Just ordered a set of 508's from Wild 1. Can't wait to get em install!

 

I put on the 518's. The 508's put your wrist at a severe angle similar to a wheelbarrow, at least for me.
