I worked with wires all my life squeezing down on wire is never a good thing. Just curious why didn't you run the wires inside the bars?

I believe I will have to run them through the bars now because I do not like the thought of having the wires squeezed either. I stopped at the Harley dealer and they said I should be able to pull the wires out of the plug and run them through the bars rather than cutting wires and sautering them back together. Is this true. I will have to look into this, but I have always thought you will need to cut the wires and have to sauter them back. I don't like the thought of this, but I think it will just have to be done

Soldering the wires is easy, make sure you get some shrink tubing, it's much neater than using electrical tape. Also, if you don't want to bother with soldering, you can get crimp-type connectors.

Instead of talking to the Harley Dealer, give Chubby Wild Ones a call and talk to their technical guys, it's their product you're trying to install. Chubby's does a great job supporting their customers during installation. So stop all this guess work and give 'em a call:

The connectors can be taken apart just make a drawing of the connector and note the wire color for each hole in the plug.

Yes I will have to give Wild One a call. I just didn't want to mess with the electrical wiring, but in the long run it will look nicer to run them through the bars. Its not that hard either because the throttle wires went right through. When you get the monkey style bars I believe thats where it gets a little harder. The joys of taking apart a motorcycle

I definitely want to replace my stock RK bars and I'm looking at the 508 and 518s. The main thing I need is more pullback. I'm 5'11" with 34 inch sleeves. I don't want too much pullback but I'm tired of having to lean forward. I'm just not sure that the extra 1 3/4 inches between the stock and the 508 is enough
