I have the 12.5 wild ones, and yes you're gonna need cables +4 inches, maybe even +6 . I got the plus 6 braided. Great bars I've had mine installed.by HD to keep the warranty in full force. Id give.you an opinion but I've had my bars for a week. So ask me again in a few weeks.

Lots of good tips/suggestions from y'all. Looks like majority of bikes are Road Kings though. I'm looking for some comments/suggestions for those Ultra Classic riders out there. I have a 11' Ultra Lmtd, I'm 5'10" and looking at the W0575/578. I wanna go a tad higher and a shim closer to me. Thoughts???

Default 550s

I bought 550s from a guy on here and I LOVE 'em

1 ¼” Thick, 3.5” Tall, 15.25” pullback, 36.5” wide.

I am 5'6", 30" inseam.

They could be a little taller, and come back 1-2" more, but I still like them.

Here is a tip for the brake cable!!!!,!,!,

I re-routed it and didn't have to get a longer one! Works like a champ

I was about to post the same comment about the majority of the thread involving RK's. I swapped out my stock 11' UC bars for the HD mini apes and think I made the wrong decision. The bars seem really wide (I measure them at 37" tip to tip) and too little pullback. After wading through this long sticky, I'm intrigued with the 513's. By looking at the pix on WO's website, it appears I'd likely prefer approximately 40 degrees of wrist while keeping the bars not too wide and not too tall. I love tall bars (I've run 16-18" apes many times over the years). Like most bagger riders looking to improve their bars, I'd like to sit up straight with my backrest in the furthest back position yet comfortably reach the bars. Oh, and I'd really like to keep my hands out of the wind too. The mini apes are just getting my hands into the windstream. I'm going to read more on the 513's I think.

I finally made it through my replacement handlebar ordeal. I was looking to sit up a bit straighter on my stock 11' seat, and not have to reach the bars while having my backrest in the furthest back position. The stock bars just didn't cut it, so after a bunch of reading I settled on trying the WO575's. I ordered them from Kirk and proceeded with the installation when they arrived. After bolting them into place (but without grips or controls) I decided they didn't seem much different from the stock bars so I didn't go any further and reinstalled the stock bars while returning the 575's to Kirk. Next up, I bought a pair of the motor company's bagger mini apes. This time I went through with the entire install, using the recommended braided HD brake line and a +4 Magnum braided clutch cable. Plenty of wiring was available so I didn't need to mess with lengthening them. The wiring ran thought the bars internally just fine. After everything was reassembled, I proceeded to take the bike for a test ride where I quickly concluded that these weren't the right bars either. Too little pullback and too wide. Ok, so now it was back to the boards to read more..... Somehow, I again felt the WO575's might be what I was looking for after all so I ordered them from Kirk again and decided to go all the way through the install and give them an honest try. Am I glad I did I'm now able to stretch out with my backrest all the way back, sit up straight, and have my arms and shoulders relaxed not having to reach for the grips. Topping it off, the wrist angle is really comfortable for me and the pullback is just right. If I had one wish it would be that the bars were maybe an inch narrower, but I'm already to the point where I don't notice the width much anymore. So.... I can now recommend the 575's and I've found bars that make my riding much more enjoyable. Oh, I should mention that I'm about 6' tall and have average length arms.
