**TOURING HANDLEBARS**Wild One WO508, 518, 513, 515, 502 - Handlebars

Hey, Just thought I'd point out that Wild 1 has updated their website and are now including a new parameter in their specs ... "Grip Angle". There's a page called Handlebars 101 that shows how they measure it, and cudos to them for recognizing how important wrist angle is in the buying decision.
I think they're listening!

Well, all very interesting and helpful. What is clear though is that this handlebar issue with the RK is yet to be resolved in any solid form. There's always a compromise of something once finding the right reach - i.e. looks, handling, vibration.... this RK handlebar issue is killing me, so much so that I'm considering an Ultra Classic just for the comfort of the stock handlebars.

Like so many others, I have been totally frustrated at the handlebar situation on my 09 RKC. Have tried various combinations of stock, Dyna and Sundowner seats with stock, heritage style and WO518 bars. Dyna seat and heritage bars were almost the right solution for my 5- 9", 30 " inseam, 32" sleeve, but went to WO518s, with Sundowner seat, looking for the perfect solution. I rotated the bar ends down too far (didn't know it at the time, and the shoulder pain caused my to buy a Honda and put the RK up for sale but no one bought it. A few weeks ago, I got a little smarter and rotated the handlebars forward until the rise was in-line with the forks, added the adjustable seat, and am now happy with the result.
Things learned: each of us is built differently, and measurements make a huge difference, when installing new bars, position them in every possible degree of rotation until the most comfortable position is found, consider a back rest.
Good luck..

Deadwood, I was glad to read your post, you have a 35 inch sleeve length. When talking about bars, that makes perfect sense. Why is everyone else talking about inseams? What does the length of a persons leg have to do with handle bars? You must be the only human here, everyone else is a monkey.
