Default New bars and seat

Well my 09 RKC just went into the shop today for the bar installation. I got the W1 16" Ape chubby bars, and I installed a mustang seat, backrest and passenger seat and backrest last week. The seat is a big improvement but until I feel the bars and seat together I won't know for sure. I'm hoping I have the same experience as you.

I had to go with the works; braided steel cables, extensions etc - but I don't have ABS (don't really want it actually) so I save a bit on that. While I was at it I added the Kuryakyn Zombie grips, clutch and brake handle, and scythe mirrors.

I will link a picture when I get the bike back near the end of this week. I'll have to update the signature picture here too.

Ok I've had the preliminary work completed. Altogether they had to go with a new cable (braided steel) and extensions etc. It was a two part process where they put the bars on and then did the measurements in order to get the right cable lengths etc. I had this done at a local custom chopper shop here in Hamilton - AL Choppers - and they do decent work. I added Zombie grips, zombie clutch and break handles and scythe mirrors while I was at it - I'll add the chrome housing and buttons later. I added standard highway pegs.

The difference is off the charts! We rode from the hammer to Clare's HD in Niagara Falls and back and no back pain, no shoulder pain, extreme comfort in the new Mustang seat. the 16 inch Wild 1 apes were perfect for me at 6"2. I need to upgrade my signature and avatar with the new pics now.

I'm thinking about calling Wild Ones and asking them for their specs on certain bars (bend angles especially) and trying to "mock up" a few different bars out of 1 1/4" pvc. What do you guys and gals think??

Just to add, I have the 517's and I'm 5'8" also; work well for me.
Thanks,

I wanted to mention that if you go with the "Chubby's" bars, things that clamp to the handlebars won't fit with the stock u-bolts and or brackets. In my case the mount for my GPS (part number 76000191) fits but I had to leave the grip about a 1/4 of an inch out on the bar, not a huge deal but still don't like it. Just wanted to warn people because I hate surprises.

I have 518s on the way but do to USPS they seem to be "lost in space".
