I suppose a good way to judge if taller bars would work for you is where do you normally place your hands on the steering wheel when you drive. If they're normally at the top, you might do better with taller bars. If you normally drive with your hands at the bottom of the wheel, maybe you'd better stick with lower bars.

Going for it
Well I've learned everything I can in theory. I've spoken with some local folks and researched the hell out of the internet on this subject; to wit I'm on this thread which I think is probably the most authoritative thread on the planet when it comes to handlebars, and there's nothing left to do but go for it so,
On my 09 RKC I'm doing up 14 inch chubby Ape's - and I have the choice between Burly and Wild Ones, but being new I don't know the difference - if any. I'm also adding matching Kuryakin grips and highway pegs while I'm at it. All the work is being done at a local custom chopper shop that specializes in Harley's here in Hamilton Ontario.
I'm 6"2 in my motorcycle boots and the 14's look about right, but any advice is appreciated.

WO 508's on 2011 RKC
I finished installing the Wild One 508s on my 2011 RKC a couple of days ago. It was a bit of a PITA,....but FREAKIN worth it!!!! I love how comfortable the ride is now on my back. With the Mustang touring seat it's like a high power easy chair!! Just a bit of a warning the stock switch wires WILL NOT reach. I used the 8" extensions they worked great, once I figured out how to get the pins out of the connectors. (thanks to those that offered advise on how to do this) see thumbnails for results. I also added a Mini Beast air horn which can be seen in the 3rd pic. That was pretty much plug and play and it is WAYYYY louder than the stock horn.

HD Fat handlebars for Road Kings 08 and up P/N 5603-08
Anyone have any experience with the new version of these fat bars- P/N 56032-08? (the demensions are different than the earlier models). I'm 5'8" and need a handlebar that will put my hands back about where the ignition switch is on the tank (I think thats about 14-15 inches from the front fork). Unfortunantely theres not too many pics on the net showing the new bars and harleys charts are weird. Can someone tell me about how for these pull back or post a good "above" angle pic before I ride all the way to the dealership? Thanks.
