For me, boots 100% of the time -- anything else is ghey. When stopping in traffic holding up more than a half ton of bike, gear and bodies, I require sure footing. There are plenty of things to complain about after a long ride (back, butt, hands), but my feet are never unhappy in boots.
I don't see too many guys riding in sneakers around me. Sneakers are ghey. You're likely to get your assed kicked in these parts riding a Harley wearing your Keds. I do see quite a few guys wearing shorts and riding boots. An interesting look, but also ghey due to the shorts, and therefore, not for me.
I've pulled my bike into the garage wearing something other than boots and it's a pain to shift in anything with a soft top. I don't know how anyone can up-shift in soft top shoes. They must be ghey.
Note: I have homosexuals, people do ghey things on bikes.
