Either steel toe hiking boots to and from work, or plain harness boots. No shorts or flip-flops ever.

Never ride with out boots. Have bad ankles and like my feet to stay attached if need them later.

I wore sneakers once...and almost had the bike slip out from under me at the first stop light. At the very least I wear hiking boots with an agressive Vibram type sole. Stupid to wear shorts - IMO.

I've actualy worn shorts on the highway a few times but with my big black leather boots.

As far as the shorts? No more. A lot of little hard stuff hits you down low, little zingers only so I feel better in jeans.

Boots only ever. All it takes is one time to need to slam your foot to the pavement in a hurry for whatever reason and you'll never go without the boots again. People that wear anything less are either ignorant or stupid.

The first day I got my new bike home I sat on it in the garage with my sneakers on. I don't know how it happened, but the lace got caught on my shifter and I lost balance and the bike went over. Luckily there wasn't a scratch on it or any other damage. I've had lots of bikes and should have known better. Needless to say, I wear boots every time.

About 80% of the time I wear boots, but sometimes, in a hurry etc. with street clothes I wear street shoes.....tie ups but still not much support. Every time I wish I had my boots on though. Have worn boots, carried shoes, it just really depends on how lazy I am in the morning when I leave.
