Default Polarized sun glasses bother you?

I'm almost 62 & I have to wear glasses to see both close up & at distance. I've been wearing prescription sun glasses since I was a teenager. At my last check-up I needed new lenses, so this time, for the first time, I bought sun glasses with polarized lenses. Wow !!! Is it just me, or has anyone else had the experience of wearing polarized lenses and seeing rainbows in their windshield? When riding my EGC with the stock "lightly smoked" windshield I see all the colors of the rainbow across the shield in varying degrees depending on the brightness & angle of the sun. It is very distracting at times. The Doc, who I've gone to for over 20 years, says it may go away when I get used to the lenses, and if they don't, he will replace them. It's worse when I ride my Super Glide & a 3/4 helmet with smoked shield. Will this really improve with time? I like the Doc & don't want to stike him, but I really am having trouble with whay I'm seeing.

Ive worn polarized almost daily since 99. I know exactly what you are talking about but never see it anymore. I love mine now and they really cut down on the glare.

It won't go away. I can't get used to seeing the tree leaves turning blue and silver as I go by them.

It won't go away. You may get used to it though. What you are seeing is the glasses filtering the polarized light, the windshield & faceshield are distorting the polarized light, then the glasses are filtering it out. If you really want to see something different look at a body of water (such as a lake) with them on.

If you want to se how much glare they are reducing tip your head from side to side and watch the glare disappear then re-appear. After seeing how much glare they stop, you may have a new appreciation for how much good they are doing for your eyes.

I won't drive the cage without them, won't ride the bike with them. Many helmet manufactures strongly recommend against wearing polarized glasses with their helmets that have visors. As was mentioned, polarized glasses and a visor is like a bad acid flashback. `

I wear polarized lenses when I wear my 1/2 lid. That way i can look over the wind shield and not through a face shield.

It takes some getting used to, like not being able to see lcd displays.
But i like not having the glare
