I'm surprised...when I changed my pads out from OEM, I had Lyndalls installed and for me they are like night and day superior to stock. No squealing either

Guess everyone is forgetting those wonderful stock pads create a ton of dust that pretty much eats up your uncoated rims up in one season not to mention add 30 minutes of wash time etc. They suck for just that reason...

I'll stick with the Lyndalls...squeal or not.

One season?? Damn. You might have a bigger problem than just brake dust.

Which pads did you use? Z+ or gold? Do you have ABS?

No, my friend it's everyones problem, those with Mags anyway. That black crap literally embeds itself into the aluminum and it takes more than a sponge to get it out... Not a problem with chrome rims or spokes.

That might be a problem if I actually washed my wheels.

Some really good info here, I was thinking about changing pads but not sure now.

I'm surprised to read the number of comments indicating a decrease in braking ability when using the Lyndall pads. I installed the Z Pads on my 07 Ultra at 5000 miles because I was unhappy with the braking, the squeel and the excessive brake dust. The Z Pads improved the braking, eliminated the squeel and got rid of the excessive brake dust. Of course, the 07 models did not have Brembo brake calipers or ABS so comparisons between the 07 models and the 08 / 09 models is not a comparison of equivalent systems. I have a 2010 FLHX on order and hope that I don't have to address these braking issues once again.

I tried both Lyndall brakes on mine, the Z and golds, Neither stop as good as the OEM Brembo pads, they are sitting on the shelf. I tried to sell them cheap, no interest.

I bought Lyndall Gold + pads because everyone was out of Z+. The Gold + generated as much or more dust than the stock pads and much more brake pressure required for the same amount of braking. I called Lyndall and they sent me a set of Z+ that I installed last night. I think they stop better than the Gold + but I can't remember how the stock ones felt now.

As far as dust, it's too early to tell with only 200 miles on the Z+.

I do know that when I put the Z+ on my previous Heritage the dust went away and it stopped better, but it didn't start with Brembos.

I'm thinking that the new Lyndalls are not the same as the ones I had two years ago.

thanks guys, i didn't wanna put another eighty bucks into something that doesn't improve the braking over the stock pads. these brembos rock. two of my riding buddies have the older brakes, one on a roadking 03 another on an 05 and the brakes really suck on theirs in comparison.
