Yep did that. Jumped a curb with the ultra and broke off the kickstand spring. Installed the new one with nickel trick. Worked great and no pulling with pliers or any real effort. Put the kickstand down and all the nickels fell on the ground. I have a center stand on the bike, made the job a lot easier. Carry a spare spring with me now.

I had a spring fall off a 07 SB going 60.
The stand fell to the ground and made a heck of noise.
I had no idea what happened until I pulled over.
Another rider had a cord that I used until I made it to a dealer the next day.
Always carry a cord with me now.
Of course the dealer said mine was the first one ever.

Ya, that is a good one. I had forgot about that. My dealer told me he had never heard from a customer that the 07 and 08 were hot. If people really go to hell for lyin, my guess is that the streets are crowded with Harley dealers.

@Frog13, I know your post is super old, but that bike in your profile pick is wicked cool. I can't believe a guy built it as a one off, having never built a bike before. It was stolen and stashed under the porch of a Chicago home, then the thief died in WWI. Obviously some time later it was discovered and now is in some museum.
