Your correct, e-bay does not hold the money, paypal does.

A friend of mine sold some expensive rims from his car. The buyer sent the payment, my friend had to fight with paypal to release enough of the funds to even ship them to the buyer.

Its a scam i know a guy that got scamed the same way with a snowmobile.. think it was sold 3 times b4 this guy got scamed

 

It's worded the same as a known scam that's gone around for ages. I am in Iraq, I found millions of US Dollars, no one knows I have it. I will give you half if you hold it for me. First Western Union me 1,000.00 to makes sure we can connect. I wil lthen wire you 20 million dollars to hold for me until I get out of the service. Yopu keep 10 million. I adlibedbig time... but believe me, only thye "Asset" was cahnged.

 

Look on ebay for the same bike by the real seller. This is a common scam. They hijack the pictures and re-post a new add for much less. They will have you wire the money and then you are out. I work at a bank and see if pretty often with bikes, cars and boats. Don't waste any more of your time.

 

Id like to catch some of these skums in real life.

 

Start looking in Nigeria. That is where a vast majority of them originate.

I saw a similar ad for a Mercedes Benz CLS 63 AMG, it was a couple of years old and was worth atleast $80K and the lady only wanted like $30K, she responded to all of my emails up until I asked for the VIN# so that I can run a carfax on it.
