My 09 Ultra ran hot stock and sounded like it was trying to suck air when I cracked the throttle. I was not real happy with the performance when stock. I added a stage 1 download, AC and Rush slipons. Happy camper now. Runs real strong. Handling is great. It does sit a little higher than my 06 UC. I added an air ride system to handle the height issue. Absolutely the best bike out of the 16 that I have owned. Sorry could not handle it stock.

Stock 09 FLHR 9k miles no problems and no pinging. I have not felt excessive heat, maybe it's not hot enough here.

What is this pinging? I too am new to HD and to be honest when cruising down the highway it sounds like there is a sewing maching in the engine. Is that the pinging? Should I be worried?

Happy with my 09 Ultra except the speed sensor is screwing up my speedo. Had it cleaned once and now its doing it again. Dealer ordered new sensor, hope this solves problem once and for all. Got 5500 miles on er now.

Don't have a bike to compare it to, but mine does run hot. When I wear the shorts (yes I know) I can't stay on for very long without moving and even when cruising I still get hot. Been told when the upgrade gets done that will go away.

I have a 09 RKC w/ Stage I. I have no complaints about the way it runs or rides but the engine is mechanically noisy. I have a noise that comes it at about 1600 rpm (estmated) and above. Most noticeable at 65 mph in 6th. I have had it checked by dealer twice who calls the noise 'normal'.

My BS (Beloved Spouse) had a 07 RKC which, I think, is the best ever!!

I love mine. I have done some things to it not because it needed it but because I wanted to. It is my daily driver and It hits 100+ here in the summer. I added the stage 1 kit from fuelmoto for performance and it also cooled it a bit. I added an oil cooler also. I run redline syn. I have no heat issues and the bike runs great. It hadles fantastic.

I've got only 3200 miles on my '09, and I just finally ordered the PC-V and SE air cleaner from Fuel Moto. I had already changed my mufflers to the V&H Monster Ovals, but I'm still feeling way too much heat on the right side. I decided I'd rather have the air-fuel mix corrected from the factory lean condition, I'm hoping it helps with the heat. Other than that my bike runs like a top. (A big, heavy, noisy top that shakes like a son of a bitch at idle.)
