Default Lowering a Street Glide

A friend of mine wants to lower his '07 Street Glide about 1-2" in the rear, is this just as simple as installing some lowering brackets?

Any links or info would be great so I know what has to be done to it.

Thanks,

Steve

Are you talking 1 to 2 inches lower in rear or 1/2 inch?

The SG is already lowered by the shocks(1/2 inch, I believe). If he was to go 1 to 2 inches lower, he'd have some serious issues with the ride and rubbing/scrubbing.

If he's looking to lower for himself, he could look into another seat or let Mean City Cycles(sponsor here) rework his stock seat.

Others can voice a better opinion on this.

I lowered mine an inch and have no issues with it, even riding double.

I just used one of the Slam Kits on ebay. It's solid as a rock and very inexpensive. The ride suffers a bit because it changes the angle of the shock slightly but not that much.

I don't think you could lower 2 inches unless your buddy is super light or he rides smooth roads or it's a parking lot queen.

I saw the Arlen Ness 1" lowering blocks on Ebay for $150, is that about the easiest option?

He needs about another 1" to flat foot safely............so I think we'll go with the lowering blocks to make it easy.
